The HX40 is a unique and feature-rich 40% keyboard kit inspired by the iconic Epson HX-20, updated with a refined modern profile and flexible internals. This is a low-profile, ultra-compact layout that offers the essentials (and the extra keys for those who can use layers) to maximise desk space and portability.

With support for MX and EC, dual/tri-mode connectivity options, and multiple case colours and plate materials, the HX40 adapts to your feel and sound preferences. This listing is for the MX keyboard kit only.

This is a Group Buy product. Group Buy ends November 15th, with fulfilment estimated around March 2026 (subject to manufacturer production timelines). We will then ship the units out the day we receive them in the UK after our usual careful quality checks.

• MX Hot-swap (Single Mode, USB-C Wired)

• EC Tri Mode (2.4GHz + Bluetooth + Wired)

PLEASE NOTE - if you purchase a dual mode or tri-mode PCB, you will need to purchase and install 2 x 503860 batteries yourselves as these cannot be shipped to us from China without significant delays to all other units. Pricing for those PCBs does not include the batteries.

All PCBs support QMK/VIAL firmware.

EC builds are compatible only with stainless steel plates.

Warranty & QC

Warranty is provided by the manufacturer for 6 months for all parts. I will QC cases on arrival and any issues on receipt need to be flagged immediately prior to use. Any issues with PCBs or accessories after use may require direct resolution with the supplier. Please inspect all components upon arrival and prior to building.
