Who are we?

Behind the Thocc Exchange is Matty. 2023 was a hard year for our family. We lost Jackie, my mother to terminal illness. During that time I remembered fondly listening to my Mum typing on an old Cherry keyboard and turned to mechanical keyboards to remind me of her presence in my life. This store was born out of her memory

What is the Thocc Exchange?

We buy authentic keyboards, keycaps, switches and accessories from manufacturers, and at other times, retailers (with consent) for the best prices we can. We then return the savings we make to you, our shoppers.

Liability

At The Thocc Exchange, we take full responsibility for any defects, damage, or issues with the products you purchase from us. While we source items both directly from manufacturers and occasionally from third-party vendors, all liability lies with us—so if anything goes wrong, you deal only with us, not the original maker. This ensures a smooth and reliable experience for you. We will never send you on to someone else to sort out a complaint.

Your satisfaction is our priority. Whether it's a replacement, refund, or repair, we're committed to resolving any issues you may have quickly and efficiently.

What makes you different to any other store?

This is a store whose DNA is kindness and equality. We have a simple agenda. Increase availability to and decrease pricing of great quality custom mechanical keyboards (and components). This is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the world, and we want to support it's development.

We run many charity events that support causes close to our hearts as a key part of our business model. It's one of the ways we get word out about our store - and what a meaningful way to do it!

Do you offer returns?

We accept returns of unopened, undamaged stock that was purchased new. Second hand items we cannot do returns.

How long will my order take to dispatch?

If your order is urgent, or a gift please use the contact form to get in touch and we will do everything we can to prioritise your order. Generally speaking we dispatch same day on almost everything, including on Saturdays. Oh, and we put stickers and samples in the boxes sometimes when it feels like you might want to try something we have in stock.

How do I find out what stock is on the way?

I sometimes issue pre-orders for exciting new stock but the best way to find out about stock arriving is on our discord channel! We have a stock announcements thread which regularly has updates (most days). And because we offer free shipping for most things, you never need to worry about FOMO.

Can I get dog pics?

Absolutely. Dog pictures are great for mental health and we provide them for free because we are obsessed with our puppy, Maui - our official mascot and Chief Cuddle Officer.
