And very very rarely, they release a new switch. Welcome to the Cherry MX2A Falcon - a cross between the beloved Cherry MX Ergo Clear and the heavy tactiles of legends past like the Holy Panda.

Cherry MX2A Falcon

The Cherry MX2A Falcon has classic signature Cherry sound and feel wrapped in the most uncommon switch design yet from their factories. The Falcon is the heaviest tactile they have ever made, with a long pole stem. Cherry have never implemented a long pole design before, and this switch produces a gentler bump competitor to the new Wingtree Yunie, BSUN Ocean and Gateron Type R switches that have taken the community by storm this year. 

Furthermore the lubing seems improved versus the initial MX2A production runs with greater consistency. That said the feel is similar as the feel was not noticeably impacted by the irregular lubing application of early MX2A runs. 

This is a Cherry switch with serious punch. It's satisfyingly tactile, great out the box and pitched well between the Ergo Clear and the sharpest heaviest tactiles.
