Known for their affordability, Frog TKL keyboards make an excellent base for this conversion, allowing you to experience Topre at a fraction of the cost if you already own a Frog TKL. This PCB provides an ideal pathway to try out Topre switches without needing a completely new keyboard.

Why This PCB Was Developed: This project stemmed from a need in the community for an EC-compatible PCB specifically designed for Frog TKL keyboards. Inspired by previous Frog TKL conversion projects, the creator identified a gap for an F13 layout-compatible EC PCB. This led to the development of the EC8X, utilizing custom plate designs and precise spacing for seamless Topre integration. Each production round has a unique theme, with this edition drawing inspiration from the Porsche 944 series, featuring exclusive 944 silkscreen detailing and a limited release of just 16 units.

Compatibility and Requirements:

• Designed for use with most TKL cases that do not require O-ring cutouts for mounting. This PCB is optimized for top-mount USB C connections, making it compatible with standard Frog TKL builds.
• Important Note: This PCB is not compatible with TKLs requiring O-ring cutouts. An integrated O-ring version is under development for those configurations.
