Meet our maker - Salopian Cerakote

Salopian Cerakote Overview

Salopian Cerakote, located in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, is the region's only certified Cerakote applicator and a UK-wide sensation over the past few years. James and his team have created some of the most incredible and unique keyboard cerakoting designs ever seen in the UK, they have built a name for themselves in our community for good reason.

They specialize in applying Cerakote, a leading ceramic based thin-film coating known for its exceptional durability, to a variety of substrates including metals, plastics, carbon fiber, and wood. This polymer-ceramic coating offers remarkable resistance to wear, corrosion, and chemicals, making it ideal for both aesthetic and functional enhancements.

Services and Applications

Salopian Cerakote provides custom Cerakote applications for numerous applications. Their services cater to the automotive sector, consumer electronics, everyday carry (EDC) items, and home interiors, among others. They pride themselves on their expert knowledge and passion for delivering high-quality, customized finishes that improve both the appearance and longevity of various products. I can vouch for that as a proud owner of a cerakoted TGR Tomo I bought before the Thocc Exchange ever started.

Why Choose Salopian Cerakote?

  1. Quality: The quality of the cerakoting is second to none. Technical expertise and creative genius having a party. James is not your standard artist - he has won awards for the quality of his designs.
  2. Expertise: As fully certified applicators, they possess the technical know-how to apply Cerakote correctly, ensuring a flawless and durable finish.

Salopian (and James) have a long track record of charitable giving and donations. This project was a joint idea between James and I and we hope it is as exciting for you as it is for us.

The charity:

The proceeds will be donated to St Christophers Hospice - a charity which is close to my heart as they cared for my wonderful mother alongside me through her last days and was her charity of choice. St Christophers is the place many people turn to when their loved one chooses to pass at home, offering amazing palliative care, and support for caregivers too.

Salopian x Thocc Exchange "Loki" TGR Tomo Charity Raffle

I asked James to take a brand new TGR Tomo and go wild; inspired by the colours of the MKUK (mechanical keyboards UK) community on discord. What happened then was between James and his furnace. And the resulting keyboard is incredible.

If you ever wanted to own a true "1 of 1" keyboard, this is your chance. The cerakoting is gorgeous and flawless, with a lovely ceramic texture across the unit.

The keyboard will be shipped once the raffle has closed in 4 weeks (6th September). Winner will be chosen using a random number generator. Each 1 unit ordered counts as a single raffle place. If you wish to enter multiple times please go ahead and it will increase your chances of winning. All going to a great cause.

In the event that the number of entries do not reach the retail value of this keyboard, I will make up the difference. No charity will go short from this auction.

To support us (even though this dilutes your chances!) please consider sharing this page with others who may be keen. The more people share this, the better our chances of raising money for people in need.

From the Thocc Exchange:

Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart for supporting this. St Christophers' Hospice do amazing work in the community, and having access to your combined donations can make magic happen for many deserving human beings.

Huge thanks also to James who has been a strong supporter of charity work since long before I came onto the keyboard scene, and who has lent his genius to this project, creating something which I can't stop staring at. It's one of the single most amazing keyboards I have ever seen.

FAQs:

How will these be shipped?
Everything we ship is in new quality packaging with enough filler to reduce risk of damage significantly. And as with all our orders, stickers included, and packed with love. We do ship to Europe yes. Contact us if you need to discuss declared value using the contact page.

I have other questions!

Great opportunities

Always nice having chances to win things like this. Sadly I didn't win (but I'm not taking a star off for that)
