This HHKB Professional 2 unit, manufactured in May 2015, is an exceptionally preserved example of Topre quality. Despite its age, the unit appears barely used, with blank white keycaps that are immaculate and show no signs of wear. The Topre domes on this unit have developed a pleasingly enhanced tactility due to natural aging, a result of the way Topre domes stiffen over time. This adds a refined, responsive feel that improves upon the standard stock experience.

Unusually smooth and quieter than a typical non-silenced HHKB, this unit’s feel may be attributed to subtle modifications: either light silencing rings or, more likely, lubrication applied to the sliders. This results in a refined and quiet typing experience rare for a non-silenced model.
